Women’s Rights

Women’s Rights refer to the social, legal, and economic rights and entitlements that are granted to women. These rights encompass a broad range of issues, including the right to vote, the right to work and receive equal pay, the right to education, the right to make decisions regarding one’s own body and health, and the right to live free from violence and discrimination. The movement for women’s rights advocates for gender equality, challenging traditional gender roles and addressing systemic inequalities that affect women. The concept has evolved over time, focusing on issues such as reproductive rights, workplace equality, political representation, and combating gender-based violence. Women’s rights are recognized in various international agreements, including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The struggle for women’s rights continues globally, as many societies still grapple with gender discrimination and inequality.
